So there is now a paypal account set up located on the side of this blog for people to donate to the woman’s community center I am going to build.
Many projects started in my community seem to fail because of lack of space to fully work through the quirks of things like mushroom farms, soap making, etc, as well as people lacking space outside their home to gather. In response to this I hope to build a center with the main goals of housing a demonstration/trial area, rooms and equipment for skill generation (sewing, cooking, soap making, etc.), a space dedicated to women, and a counseling room.
The center will have the goal of promoting a space and center location for women to empower themselves through gaining economic stability in a way that does not harm, but promotes environmental stability. My dream is to have a circular building with space in the middle for permagardens and other sustainable agricultural endeavors. The center would give women and others a chance to experiment with these types of gardens, etc. in a way where they are not risking their own crops. The community is on board and I have teachers and groups ready to use the center, to teach, empower, and start the change. So please donate if you can and feel free to pass on the info to all friends and family! Also I understand this is a short description so please e-mail me with any questions!
love

Haha! You rock, Jo! What a good idea. I, as you know, receive my paycheck in Malawian Kwacha, but have petitioned my Mom to make a donation on my behalf from ‘merica. I laughed inappropriately loud for a Malawian internet cafe when I read some of your other posts too. I’m totally buyin’you a Fanta next time I see ya.
